UKZN Application Process for New South African Undergraduate Applicants
All new South African applicants seeking admission to UKZN for the first semester (February) of an academic year, including Grade 12 students and undergraduate transfer applicants from other institutions, must submit their applications through the Central Applications Office (CAO).

Application for admission to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate studies must be made directly to UKZN at www.ukzn.ac.za
No late applications for international students
Online applications
The UKZN has developed an online application system. The following applicants must apply online at www.ukzn.ac.za:
- Postgraduate and international applicants;
- Internal transfer students (students that are currently registered at UKZN and wish to transfer to another qual)
- Returning former UKZN undergraduate Applicants;
Manual applications
The following applications must be made manually directly to UKZN:
- Applicants for non-degree studies.
- New applicants applying for admission to Semester 2 (August).
Consult with UKZN on the availability of spaces in programs before submitting applications for Semester 2.

A non-refundable application fee is payable to UKZN
Applicants need to take care to ensure that their application fee payment reaches us on or before the closing date.
