Kitomondo Secondary School Form Five Joining instructions

Kitomondo Secondary School is located in Mafia District, Coast Region. Transportation to Mafia Island is available from the Mwandege Bus Station in Mkuranga on the main road toward Lindi Region. A bus ride to Nyamisati in Kibiti District costs Tshs. 7,000. From Nyamisati, a boat to Kilindoni-Mafia is available for Tshs. 20,000. Local transportation on the island includes a bajaji (fare of Tshs. 4,000) or a motorcycle (fare of Tshs. 2,000) for the 3-kilometer journey to the school.

For air travel, flights to Mafia operate from the JK-Nyerere International Airport, Terminal 1, with a fare of Tshs. 160,000 from Dar es Salaam to Mafia. Flights are available daily.

Students can report to the school at the student affairs office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for further guidance.

Essential Requirements for Each Student

Ensure these items are prepared before traveling to the school.

A. Financial Contributions

  3. School Badge: Tshs. 5,000

  • Students should bring a 3×6-foot mattress.

B. School Uniforms

Girls
  1. Two orange skirts (ankle-length, box pleated).
  2. Two khaki skirts for work attire (shamba dress).
  3. Two long-sleeved white shirts or blouses (loose, not fitted) made of Tetron fabric; two long hijabs for Muslim students.
  4. Two pairs of black leather shoes with laces, polished (not plastic).
  5. Two pairs of white socks.
  6. Blue collared T-shirts (form six style).
  7. A blue sweater.
  8. A school T-shirt (available for purchase at the school).
Boys
  1. Two dark blue trousers with standard Tanzanian design (two pleats at the front).
  2. Two khaki trousers for work attire (shamba dress).
  3. Two long-sleeved white shirts.
  4. Two pairs of white socks.
  5. Two pairs of black leather shoes with laces, polished.
  6. A plain black belt.
  7. Blue collared T-shirts (form six style).
  8. A blue sweater.
  9. A school T-shirt (available for purchase at the school).

C. Sportswear

  1. Blue T-shirt and shorts, along with a blue tracksuit.
  2. Sports shoes and other sports equipment.

D. Other School Requirements

  1. Birth certificate (original and copy).
  2. Medical certificate from a government hospital.
  3. Examination result slip (original and copy).
  4. Leaving certificate from Form Four (original and copy).
  5. A sturdy box for personal belongings.
  6. Dining utensils (plate, spoon, and cup).
  7. Two 10-liter plastic buckets for personal use.
  8. A flashlight for emergency use at night if there is a power outage.
  9. Two reams of A4 paper.
  10. A scientific calculator (fx-991) for PCB students.
  11. A dissecting kit and lab coat will be provided for all PCB students.
  12. Subject-related textbooks.
  13. Two single-colored bed sheets (sky blue) and a pillow.
  14. Class-related supplies as needed.
  15. Cleaning supplies:
  • Girls PCB: Hoe and broom
  • Boys PCB: Rake and broom
  • Girls HGL: Soft broom and broom
  • Boys HGL: Hard broom and broom
