On behalf of the Tanzania Airport Authority (TAA) and Tanzania Government Flight Agency (TGFA),Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites dynamics and suitable qualified Tanzanians to fill twelve (12) vacant posts mentioned below.

TANZANIA AIRPORT AUTHORITY (TAA)

Tanzania Airport Authority (TAA) is a Government Authority established to operate, manage, maintain and develop Government owned airports with a commercially oriented Management style.

AIRCRAFT MARSHALLER II – 10 POSTS

    • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. To marshal the aircraft and ensure that engine start up signals is signaled to the cockpit when ready for startup and the danger areas around the engines are clear of FOD, personnel and equipment;
  2. To arrange and ensure proper allocation of aircraft parking bays based on their type and size and make proper parking arrangement for VIP flights;
  • To take charge of apron operations including overseeing, controlling and directing the towing

/push-back operations and ensure visual contact with the tug operator, cockpit and wing/tail walkers;

  1. To direct wing walkers to remove chocks when the cockpit has confirmed the aircraft brakes are set;

 

  1. To ensure safe operations of equipment around the aircraft comply with all ICAO, IATA and TCAA Standard Operating Procedures;
  2. To receive flight information from air traffic controllers and disseminate the same to airport users for announcements and development of daily mayfly;
  • To effectively disseminate technical information concerning aircraft parking to airline, ground handler, and controllers;
  • To monitor apron safety rules (such as wearing reflectors, safety boots, ear guards, and proper parking of equipment’s) to ensure compliance with apron safety operating procedures;
  1. To report accident/incidents on air side and apron on relevant forms immediately after reported by assistant marshaller;
  2. To inspect AVOP licenses to all drivers operating on the airside all the time;
  3. To track flights movements in the system all the time, record and maintain all aircraft and passenger movement data in the log book;
  • To prepare and submit daily working reports before handing over the shift; and
  • To perform other duties as may be assigned by

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Holder of Diploma in one of the following fields; Statistics, Business Administration / Commerce majoring in Finance or Accounting, Banking or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution and should have computer knowledge. The candidate must have attended Apron Management course.

SALARY SCALE: TAAS 3.1

TANZANIA GOVERNMENT FLIGHT AGENCY (TGFA)

Tanzania Government Flight Agency (TGFA) was established under the Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997 (as amended) and came into effect on 17th May, 2002 as per the Government Notice No. 193 published on the same date. TGFA took over the functions of the Government Flying Unit under the then Ministry of Communications and Transport (Currently Ministry of Works and Transport) with the purpose of providing air transport services in a more efficient, cost effective and business-like manner to the Government. The Agency was transferred from the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communication to the President’s Office, State House through Government Notice No. 252 of 2018.

SENIOR PILOT II – 2 POSTS

    • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
      1. To make pre-flight preparation and filing the flight plan;
      2. To supervise refueling of aircraft and enter details in their relevant documents;
  • To monitor controls of the Aircraft and check weather conditions and liaise with traffic air control make pre-flight preparation;
  1. To command the aircraft on instructions from the Pilot-in-command or on incapacitation of Pilot-in-command and assume responsibility for the safety of the aircraft;
  2. To maintain cabin and cockpit temperatures at comfortable levels during flight;
  3. To complete Voyage Report forms, Technical Logs entries, computation of take-off, approach and landing speeds and to ensure that the Captain signs them at the end of flights;
  • To verify that the control locks, engine locks and any other locks are properly fitted on the aircraft at night stations where night stops are made;
  • To prepare and review TGFA Operations Manuals;
  1. To develop and recommend procedures and policies related to Operations Control activities;
  2. To examine and review operating policies and procedures related to the types of aircraft flown and recommend changes; and
  3. To perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A holder of A-Level Secondary Education Certificate with at least two principal passes in Physics, Mathematics or Geography or equivalent qualifications who has Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL) issued by TCAA with Instrument Rating on multi- engine on an initial turboprop or turbojet with an all Up Weight from 41,000 Ibs (18,600Kg) to 64,700 Ibs (29,400Kg). Must have flying experience of not less than 3,500 hours of which 1,000 must be in command.

SALARY SCALE: TGFPS 3
