Bwiru Girls’ Secondary School is located in Pasiansi Ward, Ilemela Municipality, Mwanza. The school is easily accessible, with public transportation (daladala) available from the city center to Bwiru.

Attached to this letter is a list of essential items you must bring, the school rules and regulations, a copy of your birth certificate or affidavit if applicable, a health examination form to be completed by a government hospital doctor, a personal information form, your original and photocopy of your result slip/certificate, and a form accepting your school placement.

Both the parent/guardian and student must carefully read and fill out these instructions to avoid any inconveniences.

Important School Rules and Regulations

The school operates under the Education Act No. 25 of 1978 as amended by Act No. 10 of 1995, and all guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, and the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government. The following guidelines must be strictly adhered to:

School Regulations

  • Respect for all leaders, staff, other students, and the community is mandatory.
  • Consistent attendance at all school activities according to the schedule.
  • Full participation in evening study sessions.
  • Promptness in all school activities.
  • Adherence to school boundaries and instructions within and outside the school premises.
  • Maintenance of personal cleanliness, attire, and school environment.
  • Wearing the school uniform at all times when required.
  • Following the school schedule.
  • Taking care of school property.
  • Students are prohibited from possessing sharp objects or medication without a doctor’s authorization.
  • Students are not allowed to change religions or influence others to do so while in school.

Important Notices

  • Students are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones to school.
  • Boarding students must sleep in their assigned dormitory bed.
  • Permission from the Head of School is required for students to leave campus.

Offenses Leading to Expulsion

  • Theft.
  • Absenteeism of more than 90 days without notification.
  • Participation or incitement of strikes.
  • Use of abusive language towards others.
  • Physical fights with other students, staff, or anyone else.
  • Unacceptable hairstyles; students are required to have short hair or acceptable braids.
  • Alcohol consumption, drug use, and smoking.
  • Sexual immorality, same-gender relationships, or engaging in marriage.
  • Pregnancy or abortion.
  • Participation in crime, political activities, or acts violating national laws.
  • Visiting nightclubs or guest houses.
  • Possession or use of mobile phones on campus.
  • Disrespecting the national flag.
  • Attempts at self-harm.
  • Intentional damage to public property.

Attachments and Essential Forms

  1. Medical Examination Form – to be filled out by a government hospital doctor.
  2. Personal Information and Agreement Form – stating non-participation in criminal activities.
  3. Parent/Guardian Agreement Form – accepting school rules.
  4. Four Photos – of parents/close relatives authorized to visit the student.

3. Attendance Requirements

  • Students must attend all scheduled classes and extracurricular activities.
  • Students must participate in all school meetings, assemblies, and cleaning activities.
  • Students are required to attend evening study sessions.

Punctuality

  • Respect school schedules and report on time.
  • Report to school on specified opening dates.

School Uniform

Students must wear the school uniform at all times during:

  • Classroom sessions.
  • School-related activities outside campus.
  • Hospital visits.

  • Travel to and from school during holidays.

  • Sick students will be allowed to rest at the school infirmary and may be taken to a government hospital if necessary.

  • Sick students should visit the infirmary for treatment at designated times.
  • Students should have an active health insurance card (NHIF).

Fees are to be paid into account 31101200024, NMB Bank, under the name BWIRU GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL FUND.

Note: Payments must be made through the designated bank account. No cash is accepted at school. Please bring the original payment receipt to school upon reporting.

School Uniforms

  1. Two red skirts with wide pleats, knee-length (available at school).
  2. Two white long-sleeve shirts.
  3. Islamic dress code uniforms (white scarf, half-kanzu, and red pants) available at school.
  4. Two light blue gowns (available at school).
  5. Black sweater.
  6. Light blue bedsheets and pillowcases.
  7. Red tie with white stripes (available at school).
  8. Light blue T-shirt (available at school).
  9. Track suit, athletic shoes, and sports uniform for physical education.

Note: All uniforms must be of appropriate quality and design, and non-compliant attire will not be accepted.

Required Supplies

  • Mosquito net (white).
  • Two small 10-liter covered buckets.
  • Personal hygiene supplies.
  • Eating utensils.
  • Open sandals.
  • Two reams of A4 Double A photocopy paper (one per term).
  • Black leather shoes, short socks, brush, and polish.
  • Calculator, mathematical set, and dissecting kit for biology students.
  • Solar-powered flashlight.
  • Light blue sheets, pillow, and heavy blanket.
  • 2.5 ft x 6 ft mattress (available for rent at TZS 20,000 annually).
  • Personal undergarments, white or black.
  • Necessary cleaning supplies.
