On behalf of the National Institute of Transport (NIT) and the Tanzania Government Flight Agency (TGFA), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites dynamic, proactive, experienced, and suitably qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following 18 vacant positions:
1. The National Institute of Transport (NIT)
NIT, established under the National Institute of Transport Act No. 24 of 1982 (Cap 187 Revised Edition 2009), is an autonomous higher learning institution fully accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE), Registration No. REG/EOS/009 of 2002.
1.1 Flight Instructor II (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in training student pilots.
- Conduct student pilot briefings, tutorials, and practical exercises.
- Prepare lesson materials for theoretical, simulator, and flight exercises.
- Monitor students during flight checks and perform other related duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or aviation field with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, valid CPL with ME, IR, and 250 hours of logged flight time (150 as flight time, 100 as PIC). Flight Instructor Rating and Type Rating are added advantages.
Salary Scale: FAVS 4.1
1.2 Cabin Crew Instructor II (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in cabin crew training, tutorials, and practical exercises.
- Conduct exams, research, and community service assignments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant management fields with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and a valid Cabin Crew License. Experience as an airline cabin crew or instructor is an advantage.
Salary Scale: FAVS 1.1
1.3 Aircraft Maintenance Instructor II (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and reviewing training curricula.
- Prepare and conduct aircraft maintenance training sessions and practical exercises.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or related fields with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and a valid AMEL recognized by TCAA.
Salary Scale: FAVS 3.1
1.4 Flight Operations Instructor II (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Train Flight Operations trainees and conduct practical exercises.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant management fields with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and a valid Flight Operations Officer License. Experience in an airline environment is an advantage.
Salary Scale: FAVS 2.1
1.5 Aircraft Maintenance Technician II (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting aircraft maintenance training and hangar duties.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in a relevant engineering field and an approved aircraft workshop course completion. AMEL certification is an added advantage.
Salary Scale: FAVS 2.1
2. Tanzania Government Flight Agency (TGFA)
TGFA, established under the Executive Agencies Act No. 30 of 1997, operates to provide air transport services efficiently and cost-effectively for the government.
2.1 Senior Pilot II (2 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-flight preparation, command aircraft operations, and develop operational manuals and policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A-level certificate with principal passes in Physics, Mathematics, or Geography, an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), and at least 3,500 hours of flying experience, including 1,000 hours as a captain.
Salary Scale: TGFPS 3
