28 Job Vacancies at National Audit Office (NAO) November, 2024

On behalf of the National Audit Office, the Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill twenty-eight (28) vacancies as outlined in this announcement.

1. National Audit Office (NAO)

Mandate:

Article 143 of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania (1977) entrusts the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) with the duty to oversee the use of public funds and ensure compliance with approved budgets and regulations.

The NAO, established under Section 20 of the Public Audit Act, Cap. 418, led by the CAG, is tasked with conducting various audits, including financial, compliance, performance, technical, investigative, and ICT system audits.

1.1 Position: Auditor Grade II (Financial Auditing) – 21 Positions

Responsibilities:

1. Identify areas for auditing and maintain relevant records.
2. Participate in the preparation of annual audit programs.
3. Execute annual work plans for auditing.
4. Review and propose updates to work plans based on implementation reports.
5. Audit financial documents, government accounts, and special projects.
6. Prepare and issue audit queries and reports promptly.
7. Ensure follow-up on audit recommendations.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized institution.

• Government Salary Scale SAIS.E

1.2 Position: Auditor Grade II (ICT System Auditing – ICT Security) – 3 Positions

Responsibilities:

1. Identify areas in ICT systems for auditing and maintaining records.
2. Prepare ICT system audit work plans targeting high-risk areas.
3. Collect and analyze data for system audits.
4. Conduct practical audits in targeted areas.
5. Ensure the efficiency of ICT system security controls.
6. Draft audit reports.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, ICT Security, or Computer Network Security from a recognized institution.

• Government Salary Scale SAIS.E

1.3 Position: Auditor Grade II (Performance Auditing – Political Science) – 2 Positions

Responsibilities:

1. Identify performance audit areas and maintain records.
2. Prepare work plans and research proposals for audits.
3. Collect and analyze data for audits.
4. Audit government projects, programs, and policies.
5. Prepare follow-up reports on previous audits.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science or Political Science and Public Administration from a recognized institution.

Salary:

• Government Salary Scale SAIS.E

1.4 Position: Auditor Grade II (Investigative Auditing – ICT Security) – 1 Position

Responsibilities:

1. Develop investigative audit plans.
2. Prepare reports on allegations received.
3. Execute investigative audits and maintain evidence.
4. Analyze information and draft audit reports.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, ICT Security, Computer Network Security, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering with certifications such as CEH or CCNA Security from recognized institutions.

• Government Salary Scale SAIS.E

1.5 Position: Auditor Grade II (Investigative Auditing – Programming) – 1 Position

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and conduct investigative programming audits.
2. Prepare audit plans and analyze findings.
3. Collect and organize evidence for audits.
4. Draft reports and recommendations.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering with proficiency in Java EE, C#, C++, Python, and Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS).

• Government Salary Scale SAIS.E
